New Delhi, Feb 10 (UNI) The Jagannath Institute of Management Sciences is ready to expand its existing list of institutes with Greater NOIDA campus getting operational from June this year.
''The sprawling six acres campus in Greater NOIDA would be a residential complex for PGDM students and will start functioning after it gets recognition from the AICTE,'' JIMS chairman Amit Gupta said.
The corporate sector is booming and students are doing well.
The new campus will be an added achievement for JIMS in the field of management studies and technical education, he said.
Talking about the avenues opened for the students, JIMS director Satish Seth said, ''The PGDM Programme has gained immense popularity with the graduates seeking higher educational opportunities and new challenges.'' ''The ready acceptability of the post-graduates by the corporate entities may be considered a stamp of approval to the Programme.'' More than 75 per cent of JIMS students were being recruited by multinational organisations, including Citi Bank, HCL and Infosys.
Our students have cruised through the campus placements without any hiccups getting a dream pay package, which went up to 3.25 lakhs this year, he added.
JIMS organised its three-day annual cultural festival 'Kshitij' between February 9 and 11. More than 100 students from 20 management institutions participated in a series of competitions in events such as Debate, Creative Writing, Antakshari and Ad-Mad show.
The main attraction for the second day was the Fashion show titled 'Bold and Beautiful' in which JIMS Mathura Road, JIMS Vasant Kunj, JIMS Kalkaji and NDIT participated.
While JIMS Vasant Kunj followed theme 'Fusion' depicting Indo-western outfits designed by students themselves, models from JIMS Mathura Road sashayed the ramp in 'James Bond' style with guns and pointed boots.
Mr and Ms Kshitij--Adonis and Venus-- were also selected on the basis of confidence, talent and intelligence of the partcipants.
