Hyderabad, Feb 10 (UNI)Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the State Government was ready to wage a war on corruption and asked the Opposition to be prepared for it.
The Chief Minister said the government was ready to discuss the issue in the coming Budget Session of the Assembly commencing tomorrow and urged the Opposition parties to participate in the discussions to establish a corruption-free society.
The Opposition parties were making baseless corruption allegations against the government and trying to mislead the people with their statements without verifying the facts, Dr Reddy claimed.
Though the State had experienced development in all sectors during the last three years, the Opposition could not digest the fact and was diverting the attention of the people with 'their misleading statements,' he claimed.
The government had been functioning with utmost transparency and held public discussions on all irrigation projects taken up in the State.
He said the State had reached double digit growth indicating the performance of the government during the last three years.
The government was ready to eliminate corruption in the State, he said and directed the ACB officials to function with more vigour.
He said the government had taken steps to complete the irrigation projects within three to five years.Projects pending for the last ten to 25 years would also be completed in few years.
He asked the Congress Legislators to attend the Budget Session maintaining time schedule and cooperate in the conduct of the proceedings peacefully and maintain the dignity of the House.
