Vasant Sathe condoles Baba Amte's death
Nagpur, Feb 9 (UNI) Former Union Minister Vasant Sathe has condoled the death of noted social worker and Magsaysay Award winner Baba Amte.
In a message, Mr Sathe said Baba was a ''Yugapurush''. Baba Amte has become immortal because of his work and would always be remembered and continue to inspire generations to come by his constructive work and service to the needly, he said.
Mr Sathe, who is in New Delhi, called up Baba Amte's widow Sadhana Amte and his son Vikas over the phone and conveyed his condolences to the family, according to the veteran politician's son-in-law Dr Uday Bodhankar.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy also mourned the veteran social worker. Speaking to reporters here today, Mr Rudy said the country has lost a great humanitarian and social worker in Baba Amte's death. Mr Rudy was in the city to attend a convention of the Bharatiya Janata Yuwa Morcha (BJYM).
