Puducherry, Feb 9 (UNI) Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), All India General Secretary P P Peethambaran Master today claimed the NCP will form the Government in Meghalaya after the ensuing assembly elections.
Talking to newspersons here, Mr Peethambaran, who was here, to take part in the party's working committee meeting and workers conference said in Tripura, the NCP would have a good representation in the assemby. The NCP was representing in eleven assemblies and the party was part of the Government in Maharastra and Goa and in the Opposition in Meghalaya, he added.
Commenting on the problem in Mumbai, involving Raj Thackery, he said it was unfortunate that some people were trying to build up their party base on racism.
The Government would take stringet measures to prevent such incidents, he said, adding, NCP had already condemned the incident.
Expressing hope that NCP would come to power in the next local body elections in Lakshwadeep, Mr Peethambaran said in the recent elections, the party bagged 40.6 per cent votes.
He said NCP was a growing party and cited the examples of several persons, including K Muralidharan,Kerala, Tindivanam Ramamurty,TN, , Orissa Gan Parishad and JD(U)Secretary General in Bihar, joining the party. NCP would have its representation in the Puducherry assembly after the next elections, he added.
