Mumbai 'warmer' by 0.1 degrees than yesterday
Mumbai, Feb 9 (UNI) The metropolis was ''warmer'' by 0.1 degrees today as compared to yesterday's minimum of 8.5 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperature recorded today was 8.6 degrees, the meteorological department said.
Yesterday's 8.5 degrees was the lowest since January 27, 1962 when the metropolis had recorded 7.4 degrees Celsius.
While the Santacruz weather station recorded the minimum temperature today at 8.6 degrees, the Colaba station recorded the minimum temperature at 11.8 degrees.
The weather office has said there could be a slight rise in the temperature tomorrow but it would still be below normal.
Meanwhile, Nashik city recorded the lowest temperature this season at 3.5 degrees celsius today.
The city and the district have been in the grips of a cold wave. Nashik city had recorded 4.4 degrees on January 27 which was the lowest temperature this season till yesterday. But, today's 3.5 degrees broke that record.
The weather office has said the cold wave is likely to continue for the next two to three days.
Pune was luckier than Nashik with the minimum temperature recorded there being 6.4 degrees. Aurangabad was warm at 12.6 degrees.
