Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's last rites at sangam on Feb 11

Allahabad, feb 9 (UNI) The Mortal remains of internationally acclaimed spiritual guru Mahrishi Mahesh Yogi, who spread Indian spirituality and knowledge through his system of transcedantal mediatation worldwide will be cremated at 'Sangam' on Monday.

The body of the spiritual leader was brought today at Arail Ashram here via road from Bapatpur airport, Varanasi.

His successors Tony Nadaar and Girish Verma, along with 60 others had brought the body from Holland.

A committee of 65 members, headed by Shankracharya Vasudevanand Saraswati would make arrangments for the devotees coming from every corner of the world and country.

Prominent members in the committee includes Judges Girdhar Malviya and Shambhunath Srivastava, VHP international president Ashok Singhal and Allahabad Mayor Chaudhary Jitendra Nath Singh.

Maharishi's body was first taken to his guru Shankaracharya Brahmanand Saraswati's samadhi at Alopibagh and then moved to the ashram.

Lakhs of devotees converged at the site to get the last glimpse of the yogi.
