Mumbai, Feb 9 (UNI) Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif today denied reports of her being slapped by boyfriend, actor Salman Khan at a public coffee shop in the city.
In a statement issued here, Katrina, who has successfully established herself as a lead actress with films like ''Namastey London'', ''Welcome'' and ''Partner'', said, ''I have never talked about my personal life and don't intend to, because I have always believed that what is personal is personal. But this is too much.
The story that has appeared is utter rubbish and fabricated. I suspect that it's been spread by vested interest with ulterior motives. I would like to repeat that nothing of this sort has happened. Normally I don't like to clarify but, sometimes one has to take a stand and this is one of those times.'' According to sources close to her, it is for the first time that Katrina has seriously clarified. She has always believed in being dignified and keeping her personal life in the private domain. But she seems upset when Salman is painted in a bad light and the news is upsetting her more, and therefore she felt that she had to take a stand and put a lid on the rumour floating around.
Incidentally, Katrina is on a career high with record of hit films last year. Her films ''Namastey London'', ''Apne'', ''Partner'' and ''Welcome'' were box office successes. Her forthcoming movie ''Race'' is a multi starrer.
Katrina said, ''I am quite pleased with the way my career has shaped up. Even 'Race' looks extremely slick and has got an international look. It was so special shooting for 'Race'. I am just looking forward to it.'' She said she was quite upbeat about her forthcoming films like ''Singh is Kingg'', ''Main Yuvraj'' and two untitled projects with Yashraj Films.
