Guwahati, Feb 9 (UNI) The Assam BJP today took out a procession through the city streets to protest the unabated rhino poaching in the UNESCO world heritage site Kaziranga National Park (KNP).
They also burnt the effigy of state Forest Minister Rockybul Hussain and demanded immediate nabbing of the culprits, blaming the government for failing to check poaching.
The rally was led by BJP state president Ramen Deka and youth wing president Dilip Saikia.
The recent spurt in poaching of one-horned rhino in the KNP with four already being killed in the Park this year had led to widespread protests against the government's alleged failure to check poaching.
