Twenty injured in 'Jallikattu' event
Madurai, Feb 8 (UNI) Twenty people were injured in the annual 'Jallikattu' (Taming of Bulls) event at Solangkuruni village near here this evening.
Police said about 250 untamed bulls brought from various parts of Madurai and the neighbouring districts participated in the event, organised as part of the local temple festival.
The injured were admitted to a Primary Health Centre(PHC) in the village.
Tight security arrangements were made in view of strict stipulations laid down by Supreme Court for conducting the 2000 year-old traditional bull fight practised by the Tamils.
