Students, public protest against violence in Dimapur
Kohima, Feb 8: Hundreds of people, led by the Dimapur Naga Students' Union(DNSU) had gathered here to demand adequate security arrangement in view of the the breakdown of law and order situation in Nagaland's commercial hub Dimapur.
A protest rally, organised by the DNSU at the Deluxe Point Junction yesterday, where the speakers criticised the district administration for their failure to control violence like extortions, kidnappings, intimidations and killings, especially on the business community of Dimapur town.
Among the speakers, Naga Students' Federation(NSF) President Imchatoba, Aowati, President of All Nagaland College Students Union, Lemba Chang, General Secretary, Naga Council, I. Panjung Tzudir, President, Dimapur Sagar Gaon Burahs' Union, Basu Damani, General Secretary of Business Community, Dimapur and several other, appealed to the State Government to restore the law and order situation in Dimapur so that public can live in peace.
