Severe cold wave conditions in Mumbai, Nasik
Mumbai, Feb 8 (UNI) The Metropolis and other parts of Maharashtra were experiencing biting cold today with the mercury dipping to 4.6 degrees in Nasik and 8.5 degrees celsius in the city, making it the coldest day in February.
''This is the lowest-ever temperature recorded in the city for the month of February'', a weather bureau official told UNI.
The minimum temperature recorded at Colaba was 13.4 degree celsius, while at Santacruz it was 8.5 degrees.
Since last night, the chilly weather conditions made the people shiver in the city and suburbs. Medical practitioners saw the number of people affected by cold and fever rising in the last one week.
The chilly weather continued unabated in other parts of the state with Nasik recording minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees celsius, Pune 7.7 degrees, Aurangabad 7.3 degrees, Mahablashwar 6.5 degrees and Kolhapur 10.2 degrees celsius.
