Rupee in narrow band at 39.55/56 per USD

Mumbai, Feb 8: A subdued trend in spot rupee market this morning and quoted at around 39.55/56 against per USD in a narrow range as many markets in Asia remained closed for a holiday, though the movement in local equities may give the rupee some direction. Later, Rupee was range bound at 39.52 to 39.56 per USD, easing from the previous finish of 39.53/54 due to lack of fresh speculative demand from local operators, dealers said.
