Bangalore, Feb 8 (UNI) Air-India and Deccan Herald, Prajavani sponsored RANK and BOLT Awards-2007-08 to both students and teachers were presented today.
The Reaching-out project, awards instituted by Air-India, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to recognize excellence outside the field of academics and are designed to ignite the creative talents amongst both students and teachers, Mr Tsung, a senior official from Air-India, speaking on the occasion said that the Reaching Out Project was being conducted in all the states in the country to promote the concept of 'Towards Responsible and Active Citizenship'.
He said that Students and Teachers drawn from 22 Districts out of 27 districts participated in the contest and the Awardees were selected among the winners of district winners. While Ms Neha Adiga from Deeksha Centre for Learning Bangalore was adjudged as RANK state award winner for students Mrs Padma Gurumurthy, Kendriya Vidyalaya ASC Centre (S), Bangalore was adjudged the BOLT state winner for teachers. The two State winners Ms Neha Adiga and Mrs Padma Gurumurthy were traveled to Singapore on an Ambassadorial visit in last October, he added.
Former Karnataka Chief Secretary P B Mahishi, Union Minister of state for Surface Transport K H Muniyappa, K N Tilak Kumar, Joint Managing Director, The Printers Mysore Limited were among those who were present on the occasion.
