Mild earthquake in north Kashmir
Srinagar, Feb 8 (UNI) A mild earthquake rocked frontier district of Kupwara midnight last night forcing people to run out of their homes in panic.
Official sources said tremors, which were felt around 2335 hours late last night, lasted a few seconds.
People, including women and children, rushed out of their homes despite snow and icy cold winds, a resident told UNI over phone.
He said there was no report of any loss of life or damage to property.
A weather office spokesman in Srinagar said nothing was recorded in the observatory machine. However, he said, an information was received from the divisional office that earthquake had struck north Kashmir.
