Former Akal Takht jathedar taken into preventive custody
Jalandhar, Feb 8 (UNI) Former Akal Takht jathedar Jasbir Singh Rode was today taken into preventive custody in the wake of proposed Khalsa march at Salabatpura in Bathinda district.
Senior Suprintendent of Police Arpit Shukla told UNI that Jasbir Singh Rode was taken into preventive custody under sections 107 and 151 of the CrPC in connection with the proposed march of the Khalsa Action Committee at Salabatpura.
The Khalsa Action Committee was to take out protest march against Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh at Salabatpura on February 10.
The police have already taken radical Sikh leader Daljit Singh Bittu into preventive custody for threatening to disrupt a Dera function at Salabatpura.
He was taken into custody yesterday after he had made anti-Dera statements and publicly praised those who had carried out an attack on the Dera chief's cavalcade last Saturday.
