Ekta Manch demands action against Raj Thackeray
Mumbai, Feb 8 : Mr Parmanand Thakur, president of Bihar Ekta Manch, has urged the police to register an FIR against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray for his alleged inflammatory remarks against north Indians.
Mr Thakur, in a written complaint to the police, has said Mr Thackeray had used insulting words against the traditional ''Chhath Pooja'' which is very popular in Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
The north Indian community has been hurt by Mr Thackeray's remarks, Mr Thakur has said.
Besides, Mr Thackeray's remarks against the north Indians had provoked the MNS workers to unleash violence against that community, Mr Thakur has further said in his statement to the police.
In view of this, Mr Thackeray should be booked under section 153(a) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, and language, Mr Thakur has said in the statement.
