UP govt issues rules for setting up private varsities
Lucknow, Feb 7 (UNI) With a view to expand and strengthen higher education, Uttar Pradesh government today issued rules for establishing private universities in the state.
As per the rules registration under Society Registration Act 1860, Indian Trust Act 1882 or Company Act 1956 would be necessary for the proposing organisation.
It added that a sum of minimum Rs 10 crore would be needed to set up a private varsity.
Besides, there is a stipulation of 50 acre land for establishing institutions, while at least 24 square metre carpet area also vital for the building.
