TN urged to extend all concessions to private ITCs
Tiruchirapalli, Feb 7 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu Private Industrial Training Centre (ITC) and Industrial Schools Association (ISA) today urged the State Government to extend all concessions, including scholarship to the students of backward class, most backward class, SC and ST studying in the private ITCs and industrial schools, on par with the Government Induistrial Training Institutes (ITI).
Talking to newspersons here, Association State President K Sivakumar and General Secretary R Thinakarakumar said there were 625 ITCs and 725 private industrial schools in the state. But a large number of students completing thier courses without availing any government concessions, they said.
The students passed from private ITCs and induistrial schools should be given priority for technical appointments in the government departments like TNEB, TWAD, corporations and municipalities, they said.
They urged the government to provide free bus and train passes and free bIcycles to the students of the private ITCs and industrial schools.
They appealed the government to sanction adequate land for private ITCs and industrial schools and provide interest free loans for acquiring infrastructure facilities.
They also appealed to the Centre to provide educational loanS for the students studying in the private ITCs and industrial schools.
