Silver, gold open firm on strong global advice

Mumbai, Feb 7: Spot silver and gold today resumed high at Rs 21,105 per kg and Rs 11,630 per ten gm respectively on good marriage seasonal demand along with bullish advice from global markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Silver (.999) fineness grade rose by Rs 100 per ten gm in the opening session from its last close while standard mint gold and pure gold hiked by Rs 105 per ten gm each. According to reports received from Asian markets, spot gold rose to USD 906.25/909.55 an ounce against USD 888.00/889.55 on previous day while silver edged up to USD 16.65/16.70 an ounce compared to USD 16.35/16.45 which helped to boost the domestic price.

Following were the opening rates of spot silver and gold in the Bombay Bullion market today: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 21,105 Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 11,575 Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 11,630.
