Orissa CPI(ML) Liberation castigates CPI(M) for Cooch Bihar firing
Bhubaneswar, Feb 7 (UNI) The Orissa unit of the CPI(ML)Liberation today castigated the CPI(M) for the death of five Forward Bloc activists in police firing in Cooch Bihar Party State Committee Secretary Khitish Biswal described the incident as the 'outcome of reform in politics' adopted by the CPI(M).
Mr Biswal alleged that the party was committing murder one after another just to remain in power and not even hesitated to open fire on its party supporters at Naxalbari in the past.
He said CPI(M) which opposed the globalisation and liberalisation has now became the chief spokesman for attracting investment from within the country and outside.
Wide spread corruption in Panchayat level was the main reason for public discontentment in West Bengal, he said.
Instead of countering the religious fundamentalists the party, he alleged drove out Bengali writer Taslima Nasrin from the state under their pressure, he said.
The party which held a demonstration in front of the state Assembly here in protest against the police firing at Coochbehar also condemned the arrest of CPI(ML)(Janashakti) leader Anna Reddy by the Orissa police recently.
