New Delhi, Feb 7 (UNI) Russia has not imposed any ban on import of tea and coffee from India, as reported, but has kept three ports open for the purpose through which the trade is continuing, sources said here today.
The three ports include two at Saint Petersburg and one at Kaliningrad.
The ban on import of other agrculture items, however, is in place but is temporary, the sources added.
Russia imposed a ban on agricultural imports from India following the discovery of a carp beetle in a rice consignment.
India took strong exception to the ban but Russia insisted on foolproof fumigation procedures before lifting the ban.
