AP to prepare action plan for land rights to Girijans
Hyderabad, Feb 7 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the government would prepare an action plan to provide land rights to Girijans in the state.
Addressing the district collectors via video conferencing here, he directed them to finalise the action plan by July this year.
He said he had discussion with Union Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Minister Jairam Ramesh regarding permission for raising rubber plantations in the state.
He said the Centre would give permission to raise coffee plantations in another 40,000 to 50,000 acres in addition to 70,000 acres existing now.
The Centre had permitted to allot a minimum of ten acres of land to Girijans, cultivating lands for several years without any rights over it, he added.
