Mumbai, Feb 6 (UNI) A 30-year-old youth was found dead in suspicious circumstances in a shop in Byculla area of south-central Mumbai here today.
Though the police claimed that the deceased, identified as Asif Mushtaq Khan, died his natural death, the family alleged foul play.
Mushtaq, a motor mechanic, had gone to loot a shop at Byculla last night, and was found dead at a nearby shop, police said.
However, his relatives alleged that he was picked up by the police from near his home.
''In the morning, one of our relatives informed us that we should call at the police station. When we reached there, they gave us a certificate, saying that Mushtaq had died and we could get his body from the KEM Hospital,'' family members of Mushtaq said.
On reaching the hospital morgue, we identified his body, and noticed some injury marks and grease smeared on one of his hands, the family members alleged.
When contacted in this regard, the Byculla Police refused to talk further.
