Lucknow/Varanasi, Feb 6 (UNI) Condemning the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena for attacking on North Indians in Mumbai, several social, political and cultural organisations of Uttar Pradesh demanded strict action against the ''anti-social elements,'' as Samajwadi Party (SP) activists continued their protest at several districts of the state for the third day today.
The SP workers also burnt effigy of MNS president Raj Thackeray.
Meanwhile, in Varanasi, Akhil Bhartiya Swabhimani Brahman Mahasabha and Hindu Yuva Vahini separately conducted 'yagya' for wisdom to Mr Thackeray.
Terming Mr Thackeray an ''anti-social'' element, a panel of artists has demanded the state government to book the MNS chief for disrupting peace and harmony in the society, charging him under anti-nation activity.
Denouncing the Mumbai incident, Central Brahman Mahasabha chief Kamal Kant Upadhyay said such act does not hold human ground.
