Kohima, Feb 05 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today said the Nagas living in Myanmar are also part of the greater Naga family and the Nagas of the North East should not forget them.
Addressing the Nagaland Peoples' Front (NPF) ticket distribution ceremony here, Mr Rio said the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland (DAN) if voted to power in the coming Assembly election would take up the matter of the Myanmar Nagas with the Union Government and its Myanmar counterpart.
He said the DAN leaders never said they would bring solution as promised by some leaders of underground factions.
He said Nagas had been struggling for a solution to the Naga political problem for six decades, and none could set any timeframe to bring solution to the decades long problem.
He also assured that as the facilitator of the peace process, the DAN would continue their strive to bring a solution to the problem and the solution would come, and stated that the DAN Government would never hesitate to step down.
" We are always working for permanent peace in the Naga society, only this will bring development to the state, " he asserted.
