Washington, Feb 6 : Kate Hudson has signed on to star in the Margaret Keane biopic 'Big Eyes'.
Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski will direct the pic from a script they also penned.
It will mark their featuring directing debut, reports Variety.
Hudson will be playing Keane, the painter whose distinctive creations featuring big-eyed children became one of art's first mass-market success stories in the 1950s.
The movie will tell the story of her personal awakening at the onset of the feminist movement, leading to a lawsuit she filed against her husband, Walter, who claimed credit for her works.
Dan Halsted, Bonafide partners Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa, and Andrew Meieran will be producing.
Meieran put up the financing on the film through his Bureau of Moving Pictures banner.
