Govt. to commission water supply schemes soon
Shimla, Feb 6 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Irrigation and Public Health (IPH) Minister Ravinder Ravi today said that government would endeavour to fast commissioning of water supply schemes to address water scarcity problems in Shimla and Solan.
Presiding over meeting with department officers to review progress of ongoing drinking water supply scheme of Shimla and Solan Town,Mr. Ravinder Ravi also discussed the present water-availability from all sources to Shimla town that was reported as 32 to 34 mld against a peak requirement of 42 mld.
IPH Minister directed all concerned to take appropriate steps to plug water leakage at first instant so that saved water would be provided to general public.
Mr. Ravi directed officers for fast commissioning of Giri Water Supply Scheme and said that Government would be able to address the water scarcity problem of Shimla and Solan town before ensuing summers.
