Speaking on the sponsorship, Gopal said, ''I am really pleased that Geojit is my sponsor, especially for the foreign coaching that I require. At the Asian Team Chess Championship at Vizag in early January 2008, Gopal helped his team secure the Silver Medal for India and a Gold Medal for his individual performance. As per the January FIDE ELO rating list, Gopal's rating is 2,528 which will become 2,559 in the FIDE April rating list, the release added.
