'Drishti' achieves 5,000 keroptoplasty surgeries in less than 4 yrs
New Delhi, Feb 6 (UNI) Project Drishti, a nationwide corneal grafting drive from Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) and National Association of Blind (NAB), has restored the gift of sight to over 5,000 people.
The project has undertaken 5,000 keroptoplasty surgeries in over 16 cities in less than four years since it was started- all free of cost and has now become the largest corneal grafting surgery project enabled by a single corporate entity in the country.
''We are committed in our endeavour to bring light into the lives of visually challenged brethern,'' Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation's president Nita Mukesh Ambani said.
