60 observers, more than 600 micro observers for assembly poll
Agartala, Feb 6 (UNI) The Election Commission of India has decided to send 60 observers to oversee the poll process and expenditure of the political parties and candidates.
At least 600 micro observers are being brought in the elections.
Election department is emphasing on selecting more micro observers.
Chief Electoral Officer G S G Ayyanger said, ''Micro observers will be the eye of the observers. The micro observers will directly report to the observers on the date of poll''.
''In every constituency, there will be at least 10 micro observers. That is the reason 600 micro observers were required for this year's elections. Altogether, 527 already selected from NEPCO, ONGC, GAIL, CPWD, ETDC, ICAR, AG, RPFC and from several others central government undertaking organisation and nationalised banks.
Election department may also take help from national construction company NBCC and NPCC, he added.
He also informed that many observers have already arrived here, while the others will arrive today.
