Scottish farmer who took on Donald Trump lands Vanity Fair interview!
London, Feb 5 : The Scottish farmer who refused to sell his land to Donald Trump is set to appear in an interview with Vanity Fair magazine.
55-year-old Michael Forbes became a star after he refused to let Trump buy his land so that the real estate tycoon could build a golf course and resort in Balmedie.
The refusal enraged Trump who branded Forbes a 'an affront to Scotland'.
Then, Vanity Fair got in touch with the farmer, wanting to focus on a campaign against Trump.
Forbes agreed, even though he had no idea what Vanity Fair was or how famous the mag was.
"I had no idea what Vanity Fair was. A reporter from New York got in touch and I agreed to do an interview," the Daily Record quoted him, as saying.
"They didn't offer me any money but I wouldn't have taken cash anyway."
Trump's plan to build the golf course and resort was then given a blow by the Aberdeenshire Council who ruled against it. The Scottish government will now rule on the project.
