Patiala, Feb 5 (UNI) Host Punjabi University, Patiala won the overall championship in the men's section with 67 points in the All India Inter-Varsity Cycling Championship which concluded here today at the Punjabi University.
Panjab University, Chandigarh, were placed second with 17 points, while the third place went to Bikaner Univertsity, Rajasthan, which logged just 13 points.
In the women's section, Kerala University, Kerala were the overall winners with 28 points. Punjabi University were placed second with 24 points, while Panjab University, Chandigarh took the third place with just 8 points.
Earlier, in the 100 km Road Mass Start (men), Bikaner University riders stole the limelight. Ram Narain Choudhary, who won the event, clocked 2hr 52min 42.485sec. He was followed by team-mate SR Godara who returned a timing of 2hr 52min 43.659sec. The third place was taken by Daljit Singh of Punjabi University, Patiala, who returned a timing of 2hr 56min 38.845sec.
Kamalpreet and Gursharandeep Singh, both from Punjabi University, Patiala got the 4th and 5th places respectivcely.
Punjabi University Sports Director Dr Raj Kumar Sharma gave away the prizes to the winners.
