Paes not happy with Sania's decision

New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) Davis Cup captain Leander Paes today expressed his displeasure with Sania Mirza's decision not to play in India.

Paes was of the view that any sportsperson who is in limelight should be ready to face some controversies, ''as they were part and parcel of a his or her life and one has to learn to tackle it.'' The veteran tennis player, winner of seven grand slams asserted that no one bigger than the game and playing in front of own fans was the greatest joy for any athlete.

''Look at every celebrity, who does not have controversies.

We all have adversities. Every celebrity have adversities in their lives. Its how dignified and honest you are. It's about how you project yourself and how you handle them,'' the Olympic bronze medal winner said.

Talking to media persons after Indian Davis cup team's practice session at the NSCI here this afternoon Paes said no individual was greater than the game.

''I do not want to get into it. I am not bothered but the greatest joy for any athlete is to play for the country and in the country.

Nobody is greater than the game. That's something Sania has to be careful about it," he said UNI HSB RKM ht2020
