Patna, Feb 05 (UNI) Instead of resorting to any counter-violence, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) supporters today resorted to 'Gandhigiri' to protest the unprovoked attacks on Biharis and North Indians by the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena workers in Mumbai.
Shouting slogans against MNS Chief Raj Thackeray for making "derogatory" comments against North Indian people living in Mumbai and inciting party workers to organise systematic attacks, hundreds of NCP workers wearing "Gandhi cap" assembled at Patna station and presented one rosebud each to the passengers travelling to Mumbai by the Patna-Mumbai Lokmanya Tilak Expres.
"Pleasantly surprised", the passengers of all classes thanked the NCP activists for the good jesture and promised to convey the goodwill message to the Mumbaites as requested by the party leaders.
'' We want to convey the message of peace and brotherhood as preached by Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom struggle and hope it will be reciproctated by the Sena workers in good spirit, '' said NCP state president Uprendra Prsad Khuswaha.
