IDSA ranked among world's top 30 think tanks
New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) The New Delhi-based Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA) has been ranked among the world's leading 30 think tanks in 2007, according to a survey conducted by a US-based research institute.
'Think Tanks and Civil Societies Programme' of Foreign Policy Research Institute, Philadelphia, US, had conducted the survey and the assessment in 2007.
Initially, a universe of 5080 institutions was covered. Of these, 228 think tanks were short-listed by a panel of experts.
The list finally narrowed down to 30.
IDSA, established by the Defence Ministry in 1965, is engaged in research in the areas of defence and security.
