Oracle will implement the first phase of the solution in about nine to 12 months covering both pre and post paid customers of IDEA, Survya Bharadwaj, Oracle India Senior Director for Communciations, Media and Utility services, told newsmen here today. Part of the 24 billion dollar Aditya Birla Group, IDEA cellular would undertake the impelementation along with its IT infrastruture outsource partner IBM. The enterprise wide CRM system would span all lines of business and covering over 22 million subscribers, IDEA Chief Information Officer Prakash Paranjape said.
He said for the frist time a telecom in India was using a single CRM solution to provide customer service to both its pre paid and post paid conditions.
He said the Company would soon start its operations in Mumbai and Bihar.
IDEA chose Siebel CRM from among a host of competing applications offerings for several reasons including the extensive out of the box communciation specific functionalities coupled with superior architecture, flexibility and scalability provided by Oracle.
