Every student to be made computer savvy in state :CM

Shimla, Feb 5 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that Government to enhance employability of students above ninth classes in IT, will be initiating to create a pool of IT based Human Resource in State.

On launching ceremony of the Himachal Pradesh State Wide Network (HIMSWAN) project here Chief Minister said that launch of project would bring about efficiency, transparency and responsiveness in functioning of all the government units down to gram panchayat level.

Chief Minister said that IT sector had emerged global access technology and there was no dearth of employment opportunities for IT qualified youth within and outside state.

Mr. Dhumal further said that to keep pace with modern technologies, state government would be endevouring to develop IT aptitude amongst students at their very adolescent age and compulsorily make them computer literate while pursuing their academics from 9th standard onwards by the end of coming financial year.

''Efforts would be made to introduce IT education in all the government degree colleges and government senior secondary schools having enrolment of above 600 students from 9th standard to plus two level, and it would be a step towards accomplishment of the poll promise made with the people of state in Election Manifesto of party,'' he added Chief Minister said state government was also considering setting up of an Information Technology Park-cum- Township in the state in the near future which would make required ready to use infrastructure available to the IT companies which would further enhance the employment potential amongst the educated unemployed youth.
