New Delhi, Feb 5 (UNI) Eyeing the premium audio systems market, US-based Bose Corporation today launched two home theatre systems --V20 and V30, priced at Rs 1,69,600 and Rs 1,14,900.
The products, that will be imported as a complete built-in units from the US, will be available in the market from February-end.
''The market has responded well to our Lifestyle systems and we are looking to expanding base in the country,'' Bose Corporation India Private Ltd General Manager Ratish Pandey told reporters here.
Equipped with 5.1 surround sound for movies, music, sports and video games, the sytems include five small speaker arrays, a hideaway media console, an 'acoustimass' remote and a standalone display.
Bose, with presence in nine cities has seven flagship and nine experience stores, and is looking at capturing the premium segment, which is growing at 30 per cent annually.
We have added stores in Jaipur and Ludhiana this year. Among all the cities, Delhi has been the biggest market for our products, and the customers include big hotels and corporate offices, Mr Pandey informed.
The company does not have any manufacturing unit in the country and the products are imported with around 50 per cent import duty.
''We are watching the manufacturing trends in India and if the volumes are high, we might come up with a manufacturing unit in the future. For the time being, it is wait and watch,'' Mr Pandey said.
However, Mr Pandey said the company has shut down Bose Technology Centre at Bangalore last year, engaged in the development of embedded software for futuristic products, as ''we were not able to drive the benefits due to lack of time and required embedded software.'' UNI BJR MP HS1644
