Chandigarh, Feb 4 (UNI) A 32-member delegation of the Vizianagaram (Andhra Pradesh) Municipal Council today visited Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MCC) to learn the best practices of the engineering projects, sanitation and water system in the 'City Beautiful'.
MCC Mayor Pardeep Chhabra gave a brief presentation of the best working of the MCC including sanitation system, water works, electricity and other functions of MCC.
Briefing about sanitation system in the city, the Mayor informed that recently AC Nileson ORG, a top ranking Independent Survey Agency had conducted survey of 18 big cities of the country in respect of sanitation status and Chandigarh had been declared the cleanest city in the country.
While talking about infrastructure in villages, Mayor said nine villages had been transferred from UT Administration to Municipal Corporation and these villages would be provided with facilities of water supply, sewerages, storm water drainage, roads, parks etc.
Ms Meesala Geetha who laid the Vizianagaram Municipal Council delegation appreciated the well managed sanitation system in the city and also the greenery in parks and road sides.
Earlier, the delegation visited the Garbage Processing Plant and Land Fill Site, near Dadu Majra village, 39 Water works, Rose Garden, Shanti Kunj etc.
