Nipping cold continues in UP, 3 dead
Lucknow, Feb 4 (UNI) Even as minimum temperature recorded a slight increase, the cold wave swept across Uttar Pradesh, claiming three more lives in the last 24 hours.
The deaths were reported from Kaushambi and Sant Kabir Nagar districts.
In the last 24 hrs, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Agra and Bareilly divisions recorded a dip in night temperatures, the met department said.
Saharanpur was the coldest with 4 degrees Celsius, which was four notches below normal.
Gorakhpur stood at 5, Sultanpur 7.8, Aligarh and Agra at 8.4 degrees each, Bareilly 9, Jhansi 9.1, Behraich 9.2 that varied 1 to 6 degrees below normal.
The weatherman has forecast showers at isolated places of the state in the next 24 hours.
The people of Lucknow, however, were blessed with the sun god today, giving them some respite from the nipping cold.
The minimum temperature in Lucknow recorded 7.8 degrees, which was one degree below normal.
