MP Govt working on strategy to supply power in efficient manner

Bhopal, Feb 4 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh Government has started working on a strategy to supply power efficiently to all the consumers in the state.

As a part of the strategy, the government has geared up to consolidate the power transmission system within 300 days at a cost of Rs 475 crore.

Qualitative changes were being made in the power transmission system keeping in view the ever-increasing demand for power. After completion of this work, people would not have to face power failures and interruptions, an official release said here.

The government has taken up the responsibility to set power distribution system as per the expectations of people. A deadline of 300 days has been set for its completion.

Under this programme, four 220 KV capacity sub-stations each at Sidhi, Mandideep, Pipariya and Barod would be set up at a cost of Rs 91 crore. Work on them was progressing at a fast pace.

Similarly, 12 new sub-stations of 132 KV are also being established in the state. These include Khajuraho, Porsa, Katra, Mauganj, Byohari, Benigaon, Chanderi, Majhgawan, Ghosla, Nainpur, Chhanera and Ghairatganj.

Also, 400 KV power lines would be extended in 29.4 circuit km area. A net of 220 KV electricity lines would be spread in 577.76 circuit km area. The work was already underway and would cost Rs 214 crore.

The work of improving the power transmission system has been taken up in a well-planned way. Initially, a survey was carried out to find requirements and problems at the regional levels.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Energy Minister reviewed the work plan and entrusted the work to concerned companies with the instruction to complete it within 300 days, the release added.
