Chennai, Feb 4 (UNI) Dax Networks, one of the top three networking companies in India, has deployed an intelligent 'Campus Area Network' with its high-end switching, wireless and structured cabling solution for SNDT, the first women's University in Asia.
The network had been installed in the University's Mumbai campus which enrolls 75,000 students every year, a Company release here today said.
Dax had deployed DX-5749XGS at the core (L3 10/100/100 switch with 4SFP) and DX-5026MG at the edge (2 1000 TX port and two open slot switch) along with DX-915ABO wireless access point and Cat six cabling solution for this set up.
Dax's network design, effectively set up by Glodyne Technoserve Limited, ensured that the SNDT campus had a fully managed network resulting in better control over the huge network set-up, including fault detection and quicker convergence thus guaranteeing 99.99 per cent network uptime.
The network was scalable with the convenience of wireless for mobile users enabling them to be a part of the campus LAN and share resources.
The hghlights of the network include flexible two-tier network design allowing higher bandwidth management and redundancy in the network, gigabit backbone connectivity ensuring better management between nodes connecting switches and servers and Cat six cabling system ensuring future-proof infrastructure investment, the release said.
