Bomb threat in school turns out to hoax
Belgaum, Feb 4 (UNI) Tension prevailed for some time in a Convent School in the city following a bomb threat, turned out to be a hoax.
Police said an unidentified person phoned the St Mary Convent School Principal at 0920 hrs and said a bomb had been planted inside the school and would explode soon.
The children were sent out immediately and the entire school premises evacuated and Camp Police were informed.
After a through search for more than two hours, the bomb squad termed the call as hoax. Sniffer dogs were also pressed into service.
This was fourth such hoax call received during the last six month in the city. Earlier, KLE hospital, Belgaum Court and G G Chitnis School were the targets.
