6 masked men rob Andhra Bank in Karnataka
Bangalore, Feb 4 (UNI) In a daring daylight robbery, six masked men robbed Rs 2.09 lakh from an Andhra Bank branch at Rajarajeshwari Nagar in the city here today.
Police said the robbers, who entered the bank during lunch hour, assaulted the Manager and other two employees before fleeing with the booty.
While the Branch Manager Harish suffered head injury, Cashier Anantapadmanabha and Clerk Tayamma sustained minor injuries in the attack.
The robbers within the age group of 20 to 25, conversing in Hindi, threatened the Manager at gun point and asked him to hand over the safe keys.
On his refusal, they hit him with the revolver butt on his head.
Meanwhile, sources said two of the six robbers were apprehended and a search was on to nab the remaining.
Sniffer dogs and finger print experts were pressed into service, police added.
