Ahmedabad, Feb 4 (UNI) The death toll in the Shakunt Hotel collapse mounted to ten today with fire brigade personnel recovering two more bodies from the debris.
The rescue operations were carried out throughout last night and fire brigade officials were still searching the debris today.
During the rescue operations, fire brigade personnel had rescued three people who had been buried under the rubble for almost 24 hours.
Hotel Shakunt, a three-storey building located opposite the railway station here, had collapsed yesterday morning.
The state government has already announced Rs one lakh compensation to the kin of the deceased.
A police complaint has been lodged against the hotel owner and the owner of the adjacent plot for negligence.
More than 200 Ahmedabad fire brigade personnel and State Disaster Management officials were carrying out rescue and relief operations with the help of about 125 NGO volunteers.
