PM to lay foundation of rail project in MP
Ratlam, MP, Feb 3 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will lay the foundation of 152-km-long Chhota Udaipur-Dhar rail line and 252 km-long Maksi-Godhra rail line near Jhabua district on February 8.
''Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and Minister of State (MoS) for Railways Naranbhai Rathwa would be present on the occasion,'' Union MoS for Agriculture Kantilal Bhuria told reporters here today.
The Rs 620 crore Chhota Udaipur-Dhar rail line and Rs 1,000 crore Maksi-Godhra rail line would be completed in six and eight years respectively.
He said former Prime Minister late Rajiv Gandhi had dreamt of connecting Jhabua to rail line during his visit. The dream was going to be fulfilled now and the region would develop at a fast pace due to rail connectivity.
He said survey work for Ratlam-Baswada-Dungarpur rail line would be completed soon. A provision would be made for adequate funds for this project.
