Hooda announces free travel for 'Nambardars'
Jind, Feb 3 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced that the state Government was considering to provide free bus passes to the Nambardars for their official journeys from their village to Block, Tehsil and District Headquarters.
The Chief Minister was addressing a huge gathering on the occasion of State Level Nambardaar Sammelen here. The Sammelen was organised by the Haryana Nambardaar Association.
Mr Hooda said the government had decided that the Nambardari would be passed on the hereditary basis. He said the government was providing all facilities to the Nambardaars, including monthly honorarium of Rs 500 and increase of 'Pachotra' (Share in Abhiana) from 3 to 10 per cent.
The Chief Minister appreciated the role of the Nambardaars in performing as a bridge between the Government and the people.
Reiterating his commitment for the welfare of Nambardaars, he urged them to maintain peace and amity in society and provide unstinted cooperation to the Government.
The State President of the Nambardaar Association Hari Singh Khokkar thanked the Chief Minister for giving due honour and regards to the Nambardaar community in the State. On behalf of the Nambardaar Association, he assured full support to the Chief Minister.
