Governor lays stress on education in Haryana
Yamunanagar, Feb 3 (UNI) Haryana Governor A R Kidwai asserted that for the progress and prosperity of the society it was imperative to give more thrust to education as this helps all particularly the poor to enhance their social and economic status.
The Governor was addressing a gathering after inaugurating a Multipurpose Health Checkup Camp held at Kapal Mochan in the district.
Dr Kidwai said that the real standard of economic progress and growth of a nation could be adjudged by the progress of human resources. He maintained that India was progressing in right direction and hoped that by 2020 the country would become the third economic power of the world.
While lauding the role of progressive and hardworking people of the state for making Haryana, a front ranking state in the country, the Governor said that the people of the State were working hard and had earned a name in the field of agriculture, industry and education.
Dr Kidwai said that the State Government was also extending all sort of help on its citizens in their activities. The cummulative result is before every one to see that the state was making progress in every field.
He expressed his happiness that Haryana was giving special thrust on the promotion of education and health and this was the only reason that all round development of the state had been ensured.
The Governor said that new avenues of employment generation had been opened in the State as vocational and technical education was being imparted to the students. He stressed the need to impart technical education to the students so that sate could face the challenges in the age of globalisation.
Earlier, the Governor inaugurated an exhibition and flagged off a mobile van to survey child labour in the district. He hoped that after identification of the child labourers, adequate steps would be initiated for their education and rehabilitation in the district.
He also distributed blankets and utensils among 500 poor and needy people of the society.
