Chill abates in Delhi; temp rises above normal
New Delhi, Feb 3 (UNI) The chill, sweeping Delhi for the past few days, has abated today with the mercury rising to 9.8 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal.
The Weatherman here attributed the rise in the temperature to a heavy cloud cover over the capital.
The minimum temperature today was above nearly seven degrees from yesterday's recorded at 2.9 degrees Celsius. The fall in mercury on Saturday was due to cold northwesterly winds.
The weatherman said traces of rainfall were recorded since 0830 hrs this morning.
The temperature recorded at 1130 hrs stood at 14.4 degrees Celsius, he added.
The Met office forecast generally a cloudy sky in Delhi during the next 24 hours with the possibility of light rain or thundershowers.
