Ambikapur, Chhattisgarh, Feb 2 (UNI) Three labourers were abducted by armed Naxals at Nagra village at Ramanujganj area in Balrampur police district of Chhattisgarh last night, police said today.

More than 50 armed Naxals reached the spot where work on the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojna was progressing at around 0100 hours and abducted three labourers.

Besides, the ultras, who remained there for two hours, beat up other labourers and set 10 tractors, brought from Rajasthan and one JCB machine, on fire. Three tractors were gutted in the fire completely.

Ramanujganj is election area of state Home Minister Ramvichar Netam. A court had recently acquitted a police team in a fake Naxalite encounter case. The abduction was being viewed as a response to this decision.
